Some people find that when it comes to certain activities they indulge in, the need for extra energy from an alternative source may be needed. This is where an energy patch may come in handy. What exactly is an energy patch and what does it really do for you? In a nutshell, an energy boosting patch is a transdermal patch that contains ingredients that help give you a fresh burst of energy when you need it. Although there are some energy patches that say they are not transdermal patches since they do not make your body absorb ingredients via your skin, most of the patches used for this purpose are transdermal patches.
Some of the energy patches you will find in the market use vitamin B12 as their energy booster while others may use energy boosting ingredients like caffeine, green tea extract, amino acids and lysine in theirs. Others claim to use nanotechnology and do not transmit substances into the body via your skin but rather stimulate your body to produce extra energy with the use of electromagnetic fields or magnetic energy being radiated onto certain pulse points of your body.
If you are in need of extra energy to perform certain tasks at work, in the gym or at home, or if you need to boost your mental focus on those days when you find your mind wandering, you might want to consider using an energy patch instead of drinking energy drinks. These energy patches are easier to use and do not require you to mix anything, ingest anything or do anything else other than to stick a patch onto one of the specified areas of your body. These patches also give you the benefit of getting the energy you need without suffering from the side effects that most energy drinks bring with them. The side effects that you can avoid include bloating, stomach cramps, palpitations, headaches and nausea, to name a few.
These patches are guaranteed to keep you alert and on your feet for a certain amount of time, usually for four to five hours. If you need to stay alert and energetic for a longer period of time, you will simply need to replace the old patch with a new one. You can actually use a couple of patches at a time if you need to but you need to understand that your use of these patches is limited to a certain number per day. Usually, the makers of these patches advice you to use no more than four in a 24 hour period.
